Tiger Nuts

Nature's Nutrient-Dense Superfood

Tiger nuts (Cyperus esculentus), known locally in West Africa as earth almonds, are small tubers prized for their naturally sweet, nutty flavour and extraordinary nutritional density. Stone Trade Networks sources exclusively from verified smallholder farms across Nigeria's northern agricultural belt, where the soil composition and dry-season growing conditions produce tiger nuts of exceptional sweetness and starch content. Each harvest is evaluated for moisture, sugar level, and physical uniformity before a single bag enters our processing facility.

Quality

Every batch is dried to ≤8% moisture, cleaned to remove stones, sand, and foreign matter, and colour-sorted by optical scanner. We maintain aflatoxin levels well below the EU threshold of 4 µg/kg and issue comprehensive Certificate of Analysis (COA) reports for each consignment.

Hibiscus Flower

Hibiscus Flower

Vibrant Dried Calyces of Exceptional Colour

Hibiscus sabdariffa — called zobo in Nigeria and bissap across West Africa — produces deep crimson calyces that are among the most commercially sought botanical ingredients on the global market. Stone Trade Networks partners directly with farmer cooperatives in Kano, Jigawa, and Sokoto states, where the semi-arid climate yields hibiscus with the highest anthocyanin concentrations. We process and package the calyces immediately after harvest to lock in colour intensity and prevent oxidative degradation.

Quality

Moisture is controlled at ≤12%. Colour index is verified by spectrophotometric analysis. We test for pesticide residues, heavy metals, and microbial contamination in accordance with EU Regulation (EC) No 396/2005. Anthocyanin content is reported per COA. Sulphur dioxide (SO₂) levels are maintained below detectable thresholds for clean-label compliance.

Turmeric

Turmeric

Golden Root, Globally Certified

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) has transcended its traditional role as a kitchen spice to become one of the fastest-growing natural ingredients in the global wellness, food, and pharmaceutical industries. Stone Trade Networks sources whole turmeric rhizomes from farms in Kaduna and Nassarawa states where the tropical climate and laterite soil produce roots with notably high curcuminoid content. Our processing line transforms fresh rhizomes into dried slices, powder, or whole fingers within hours of harvest to maximise bioactive retention.

Quality

Curcumin content is independently tested per batch using HPLC methodology. Moisture is maintained at ≤10% for powder and ≤12% for whole dried fingers. We test for lead, cadmium, arsenic, and mercury. Microbial counts (TPC, yeast, mould, E. coli, Salmonella) are verified at an ISO 17025-accredited laboratory before dispatch.

Ginger

Ginger

Sharp, Aromatic, and Commercially Prized

Nigerian ginger (Zingiber officinale) is globally recognised as among the finest in the world, prized for its exceptionally high gingerol content, intense aroma, and sharp pungency that surpass varieties grown in many competing origins. Stone Trade Networks sources exclusively from Kaduna state — Nigeria's primary ginger-growing region — where the volcanic highland soils and altitude deliver a root with concentrated volatile oils and a bold flavour profile that commands premium pricing in international spice markets.

Quality

Dried ginger is processed to ≤10% moisture with gingerol levels independently verified per batch. We offer both sulphured and unsulphured lots; unsulphured ginger is available for buyers requiring clean-label and organic compliance. Aflatoxin, OTA, and pesticide screens are run on every export lot. Ash content and total volatile oil are reported in each COA.

Bitter Kola

Bitter Kola

Africa's Prized Botanical Treasure

Bitter kola (Garcinia kola) is a tropical seed native to the humid forests of West and Central Africa, revered for millennia for its cultural significance and remarkable bioactive properties. Stone Trade Networks sources Garcinia kola seeds from verified collectors in Edo, Cross River, and Delta states — the ecological heartland of bitter kola production in Nigeria. Our handling protocols preserve the integrity of the delicate seed, preventing premature fermentation or mould growth that can compromise quality during transit from forest floor to export warehouse.

Quality

Seeds are hand-sorted and inspected for mould, pest damage, premature fermentation, and size uniformity. Moisture is controlled at ≤12% to inhibit mould growth. We test for total aflatoxin, microbial load, and heavy metals. Cold-storage holding prior to shipment is available on request to maintain freshness for sensitive markets.
